Duke of Yorks Theatre, London 18 Oct Written By Bernadette Smith We have been to the Duke of York’s a couple of times with the wheelchair. The Main Entrance is on street level, where there is the Box Office, Champagne Bar and an Access Toilet. There are two wheelchair spaces in the Royal Circle with level access. There is a restricted view of the stage from the wheelchair spaces. It is worth knowing the Accessible Toilet is on the right hand side, so if you sit on the right you are nearer the toilet. However, the toilet is in such a position that when you use it you are in the middle of the queue for the ladies, so it makes it difficult to negotiate. Whilst the toilet is large due to the amount of stuff inside it is not possible to turn around in the wheelchair. You have to reverse out and that is difficult when there is a queue behind the door. They do provide an Access Host, to help you get to and from the toilets so that is a help.Once again, drinks are only available to order via this App, unless you walk to the bar. We are both disabled, but I attempted a walk to the bar but found it was up two flights of stairs, so I wouldn't do that again. This Theatre is trying their best, but are limited by being an old Victorian Building. They could help by providing an Access Host to assist with drinks.Overall, I would rate this 5/10 Bernadette Smith https://www.frontstalls.co.uk
